Maintaining Our Edge in an Increasingly Competitive Future
UA Local 401 is expanding the scope of performance excellence to meet changing economic and demographic circumstances:
- We are taking on greater responsibilities in logistical and organizational support in order to ensure our Contractors' underlying projects are completed on time and on budget.
- We are proactively addressing the issue of the aging demographic by focusing on training young apprentices and ensuring their high performance on the job. Our Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) hold the largest number of certified plumber apprentices and certified steamfitter apprentices in the region. This ensures that the Local is well positioned to supply an ongoing quantity of highly skilled, highly trained and high performing workers to meet the influx of demands, in spite of the aging demographic.
